No screwing around this time, Winter is here.
Today, (Dec. 12) I'm looking at 4-6 inches of snow on my lawn.

Actually, it's not quite winter, according to the calendar, but when the temperature and the snow fall it sure as hell looks and feels like winter. My point, things can change quickly. A drop in the temperature of a few degrees and rain becomes snow.
Roadtrip, before the storm.
Last week my pal John B called me and asked if I wanted to take a road trip to Two Rivers. Two Rivers is on the shore of Lake Michigan. What he anticipated was the chance of photographing a phenomenon that occurs when we get a cold day with low winds and open water, while Lake Michigan is still relatively warm. What you get is clear skies over land and the formation of a high wall of fog and clouds over the lake. The contrast is amazing.
Unfortunately, if it happened at all, it occurred far offshore and a little earlier in the day. That didn't stop us from recording things as they were. I posted my photos on my Facebook page, however, just for my loyal readers, I add to this posting my "Shopped" versions.
In the middle Image above, you can see the fog/cloud formation we were looking for. We wanted to be there when it was closer to the shoreline.
Notes on Football, European and American
Phase One
I was two for two this weekend. I wanted Seattle to win. Why you would ask. Because we don't have a Major League Soccer Team. Because I have kids and grandkids in Seattle. Because I believe, Soccer is a beautiful game. On Saturday, The Seattle Sounders won the MLS Championship by beating Toronto. My sorrow occurred when I DVR'd the game, I extended the recording time for one hour. Unfortunately, the game took a little longer. I did not get to see the winning goal scored.
Phase Two
On Sunday our Packers absolutely kicked The Seattle Seahawks backside with a convincing 31-10 victory at Lambeau. My selection for the offensive player of the game was Aaron Rodgers who sliced and diced the Seattle defense. The defensive player of the game should be Seattle QB Russel Wilson who served up five interceptions to our defense.
I will be traveling next week, so I won't be writing my blog until next year.
To everyone who reads this, I want to wish you and your's a wonderful holiday season. May you spend time with the ones you love and love the time you spend with them.
